Workshop: Creative Catalyst [ONLINE]

Bored with your photography and don’t know what to do? Want to begin a new series but haven’t found a direction or hit a plateau in your current series and don’t know where to go?  Sign up for  Creative Catalysts.  Creative Catalysts is an ongoing group of photographic artists who are looking to be challenged and inspired. Led by artist and curator Beth Lilly, each month she presents an assignment designed to push artists into new creative and technical spaces, shake themselves out of ruts and find inspiration. The following month, the group meets to critique the previous month’s assignment and receive the next assignment. APG posts the best work from each assignment on their social media.

Artists sign up for 3 classes at a time and at the end of the three months, can choose to continue or take a break.

Register by January 6- intro class & receive your first assignment!

  • January 20 – Review and discuss 1st assignment.  Receive 2nd assignment

  • February 17 – Review and discuss 2nd assignment.  Receive 3rd assignment

  • March 17 – Review and discuss 3rd and final assignment

Instructor: Beth Lilly

Beth Lilly is an artist, curator, teacher and the former executive director for Atlanta Photography Group.   An exhibiting artist for over 30 years, recent exhibitions include Spalding Nix Fine Art, New Mexico Museum of Art, The High Museum of Art, the Zuckerman Museum, Whitespace Gallery, the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, and MOCA GA. Her work resides in the permanent collections of the High Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Art, The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, MOCA GA, the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund and many private collections.  She has taught photography for both Kennesaw State University, the Art Institute of Atlanta and the High Museum. Her critically acclaimed performance/interactive project “The Oracle @ WiFi” was published by Kehrer Verlag in 2012. Lilly earned a MFA in Photography from Georgia State University and an A.B.J. in Telecommunication Arts from the University of Georgia.

APG will refund tuition fee if the cancellation is made up to one week before the workshop date, administrative fees may apply.
